The mission of the Student Services LGBTQ+ Committee is to foster positive mental health, establish safe and inclusive schools, and promote academic success for students who are or are perceived to be lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and/or questioning.
The committee has collaborated with the Superintendent, School Board, and legal department to develop LGBTQ+ District Guidelines. The guidelines help to ensure consistent best practices across our schools and are are aligned with the district's non-discrimination policy. In addition, every school now has an LGBTQ+ Liaison who is available to provide assistance to their schools with regard to implementation of the LGBTQ+ District Guidelines and supports available to LGBTQ+ students.
