Thank you to Dr. Minetha Brown, the SEHS Sandy Hook Ambassador and Emilee Vermilion, the faculty sponsor for the school's "Humans for Humans" club.

"Start with Hello Week" activities at SEHS

The purpose of start with hello week is to focus on creating a friendly and warm environment for students and staff. This is part of a partnership with Sandy Hook Promise to minimize the possibility of acts of violence on our campus and in surrounding communities. These activities are student-led and teachers are only asked to assist in getting materials out to students. However, please join in!

Here is a run-down of the week's activities at Southeast:
Monday: Cheerleaders will welcome students and staff at all entrances. Students will sign the Hello banner in the cafeteria during lunches and receive a treat.

Tuesday: Everyone will wear "Hello, my name is" name tags. Tags will be in the 2nd period teacher boxes by Monday PM. Please distribute at the beginning of class and check that the name is appropriate.

Wednesday: Make a Pen Pal: Students will write a friendly anonymous note to someone. Index cards will be placed in the 3rd period teachers box by Tuesday PM. Please return these to Dr. Brown's box by Wednesday PM. A different set will be given to you to randomly share with students on Friday.

Thursday:  Give a treat, get a treat. Students will have a "hello" treat to share with someone they don't know. Treats will be in 3rd period teacher boxes by Wednesday PM. Please distribute at the end of the period.
    Friday: Wear green to celebrate!
