NJHS is a national club for middle schoolers who are invited to apply to join. Students must meet the following criteria: 1) attain a 3.5 quarterly GPA for 6 or more consecutive quarters and 2) have no major referrals. Students are invited to fill out an application in February; if they meet all the criteria, they receive a welcome letter and induction into the club is in April.
Club activities include: school recycling, Manatee County Adopt-a-Family, club garage sale to sponsor a student to go to school for a year in Africa, Pasta for Pennies for the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society, ushering at school functions, and induction ceremony.
