P.E.E.R. Leadership Program

  • The P.E.E.R. leadership program aims to provide an opportunity for eligible 4th and 5th grade students to Prepare, Encourage, Empower, and Respect other students and adults within our school community, in order to create a positive atmosphere.

    P.E.E.R. Leaders at Harvey are 4th and 5th graders who take leadership seriously and are interested in helping others. P.E.E.R. Leaders are dedicated in their mission to promote good citizenship.

    P.E.E.R. Leader Characteristics

    A P.E.E.R Leader is someone who:
    •  is a positive role model for others.
    •  is trustworthy.
    •  is a responsible learner.
    •  respects themselves and others.
    •  attends school regularly.


    P.E.E.R. Leader Positions and Responsibilities

    Safety Patrols 
    Arrive at school by 8:00 a.m. and remain at school until 3:30 (except bus riders). Monitor various areas to make sure students are following procedures.

    Breakfast Crew Leaders 
    Help younger students in lunch line, assist students finding a place to sit each morning and monitor recycling.

    News Crew 
    Video tape announcements to create a weekly news video. Take pictures of happenings around school for administration to post on Facebook and Instagram to keep our community updated.

    Tech Support 
    Transport carts if needed, help clean devices, organize computer lab and other various tech jobs.

    Lunchroom Crew
    Welcome parents that eat with their child, answer questions, help with trays, monitor recycling and assist classes when needed.

    School Ambassador (5th graders only) 
    Welcome visitors on campus, assist with school tours, assist with events during and after school. This position requires a face to face interview at Harvey Elementary sometime during the month of July.

    Specials Assistant 
    Help set up supplies, clean and organize materials when needed.

    Student Assistant 
    Assist students (VPK, Special Needs, etc.) around the school campus at various times.

  • The P.E.E.R. Leadership Program is open to eligible 4th and 5th Graders.
