Coronavirus Update 3/2/20

To our Parents, Employees and Community:
School District of Manatee County officials are working closely with state and local Health Departments as well as state and local Emergency Management leaders. We will keep you updated on information as we receive it.
Superintendent Saunders is meeting this morning with Governor Ron DeSantis, Lieutenant Governor Jeanette Nuñez and State Surgeon General Dr. Scott Rivkees in Tampa for discussions regarding Coronavirus (COVID19) and its impact on our area and state.
Other district officials are meeting today with the Florida Department of Health in Manatee County, Emergency Management leaders and other community officials to get the latest information and plans for moving forward.
In addition, the district is enhancing cleaning and disinfecting measures in our schools, we are placing orders for additional hand sanitizer for all schools and works sites as well as any other materials that will be beneficial.
Most importantly at this point, please help us remind your children to continue to follow best practices for helping to prevent the spread of the flu such as getting vaccinated; covering your mouth when you cough or sneeze; washing your hands with soap and water or alcohol-based hand cleaner; avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth when possible; and staying home if you are sick.

Los funcionarios del Distrito Escolar del Condado de Manatee están trabajando en estrecha colaboración con los departamentos de salud estatales y locales, así como con los líderes estatales y locales de gestión de emergencias. Le mantendremos informado sobre la información a medida que la recibamos.
El Superintendente Saunders se reunirá esta mañana con el Gobernador Ron DeSantis, la Teniente Gobernadora Jeanette Nuñez y el Cirujano General del Estado Dr. Scott Rivkees en Tampa para discutir sobre el Coronavirus (COVID19) y su impacto en nuestra área y estado.
Otros funcionarios del distrito se reúnen hoy con el Departamento de Salud de Florida en el Condado de Manatee, líderes de Manejo de Emergencias y otros funcionarios de la comunidad para obtener la última información y planes para seguir adelante.
Además, el distrito está mejorando las medidas de limpieza y desinfección en nuestras escuelas, estamos haciendo pedidos de desinfectante de manos adicional para todas las escuelas y sitios de trabajo, así como cualquier otro material que sea beneficioso.
