Aug. 8th 2021
Panther families,
We are excited to welcome back all students on Tuesday, August 10th for the 21-22 school year! For car riders, the earliest students can be dropped off is 8:45 am. If a student needs to be dropped off earlier than 8:45 am, please ensure they are signed up for the YMCA before care program. 6th graders & 7th graders will report to the gym and 8th graders to the cafeteria. At 9:15 am, the bell rings for students to report to homeroom. Students can find their homeroom class printed on their schedule or in Focus. There will also be adults on campus who will be able to direct students to their homeroom class.
Car riders will drop off in the parent pick up loop on the south side of the school or through Gate B. Due to construction on our front entry, we are down to one lane and students will now enter through the side doors of Building 6. There will be signs directing parents on where to go. We will unload the first seven cars at a time. Be prepared to pull forward when directed to and please be patient. We will do our best to get you through as quickly as possible. Please do not drop off students in the bus loop (Gate A) or on River Club Blvd. This is a safety issue.
Students should "dress for success" on a daily basis. Please refer to our dress code policy on pgs. 12-13 of the Student Handbook. Students should not have holes or slits in their jeans or pants showing skin, no sleeveless shirts, shorts or skirts should be fingertip length or longer, no leggings, and hats, sunglasses and other non-school items should be left at home. Students will receive a temporary ID & lanyard in homeroom. As a safety measure, their ID & lanyard will need to be visible around their neck at all times.
Masks are optional this year. However, we will have hand sanitizer in every classroom, students will be encouraged to wash hands frequently, and we will continue to clean and sanitize spaces on a regular basis. Please have your child bring a water bottle. Please see the attached Back to School FAQ flyer for more information. We look forward to working together to keep our campus safe.
School is dismissed at 4:10 pm. Students must be picked up no later than 4:40 pm. If your child cannot be picked up prior to that time, please enroll them in the YMCA after care program. As a safety precaution, students must be supervised at all times. There is no supervision available before 8:45 am or after 4:40 pm. Please help us to keep all students safe by enrolling in the YMCA programs.
If you have not signed up for the Focus Parent Portal, please see the attached instructions. And if you have not already done so, please like us on Facebook. For families who are newly enrolled, please see the attached Back to School newsletter sent home previously.
As always, we thank you for your cooperation and support. We are the home of the Panthers, where we believe and achieve!
Best regards,
Mrs. Zenon-Richardson
