Organization and Officers of the Board
The School Board of Manatee County is comprised of a five-member board elected county-wide serving four-year terms. The School Board develops policy based on Florida and Fedearl laws governing schools and appoints a superintendent to manage day-to-day operations of the school district.
A chair and vice-chair are elected annually by the School Board of Manatee County at its organizational meeting in November.
The superintendent, as provided by law, is the secretary and executive officer of the school board. At any organizational meeting, the superintendent acts as chair until the organization of the school board is completed
