Notice Regarding Meetings During the COVID-19 Emergency:
At the School Board Meeting held March 24, 2020 the School Board Declared an emergency in the District related to the COVID -19 Virus. President Donald Trump and Governor Ron Desantis previously declared a state of emergency. Until the emergency conditions are deemed over in Manatee County by government authorities, School Board Meetings will be conducted following government guidelines for public meetings during this emergency:
The Board may hold partial or entire “virtual” meetings (persons not physically present).
The agenda will be as limited as possible (matters and actions that need to be decided at this time and cannot be postponed).
Attendance at a physical meeting will be as limited as possible, abiding by the 10 or less person rule and 6 foot rule of social distancing.
Meetings will be recorded, minutes taken and published, and meetings will be streamed/broadcasted. Because of the pandemic, the public will not be physically permitted in the building for safety purposes.
Public Comment – Agendas will be published in the typical manner in advance of any meeting and the public may contact the Board prior to the meeting by phone, email or written document regarding any agenda item. Written comments should be typed and include the agenda topic, name and address of the person making the comment. The Board members, Superintendent, staff and legal counsel will be provided all comments in advance of the meetings. A special email link for public comments is as follows: email@example.com. Public comments will be made part of the official record of the meeting.
