New Educator Development

  • The School District of Manatee County provides support and developmental opportunities for educators entering the field, and teachers new to the school district. Our comprehensive induction program includes partnerships between school sites, building personnel, and professionals within the instructional division.

New Educator development consists of the New Educator Orientation, Manatee County Induction Program, and Mentor Teacher Program. Our program is built to provide immediate support and professional learning throughout the school year.

New Educator Orientation

  • New Educator Orientation provides meaningful information and professional learning that assists new educators transitioning into their new classroom/school. Topics include Curriculum and Instruction, Technology Services, Human Resources, and more! New educators will learn how to create and maintain a positive classroom environment, and integrate students of all abilities and learning levels into classroom instruction.

Induction Program

  • As a new teacher, or an experienced teacher new to the district, it is important to acclimate oneself to the new environment, which can be overwhelming. The Induction Program is designed to onboard and support new instructional hires in the School District of Manatee County.

Mentors

  • Each new hire is paired with a mentor that provides curriculum and instruction support for one full year from date of hire, including new hires that onboard after the start of the school year. All school-based mentors have received specialized training designed to support the development of new teacher talent.
